My new song, “1914 (Christmas Truce)” is available now!
It began with a Christmas tree, raised as a joke, and “Stille Nacht”. On December 25, 1914, in WW1, enemies left their trenches behind to remember hope together in no-man’s-land in what’s known as the “Christmas Truce of 1914”. I think about it every year, but especially now. For long ago, angels announced that Jesus’ arrival heralds peace and goodwill on earth. Maybe we Christians ought to mimic the angels and those soldiers alike, singing into division: “Peace on earth, the Lord has come”.
